Replacing Maxtor DiamondMax Plux 9 PCB

August 8th, 2007, 13:58

Hi people in this forum, I'm quite new. Been reading the forums but without registering and in this case I need your help.

I own a DiamondMax Plus 9 (80 gb) with the following characteristics.

YAR41VW0
E4FYA

PCB Called: Calypso III

Because of a mistake, it was connected with the molex the wrong way and it never more started.

I really need the data stored in that drive so I acquired another HDD with the following characteristics

YAR41BW0
M6FYA

PCB Called: CALYPSO/KOI_P/THERM

I changed PCB's and now the broken HDD starts but it's recognized by the BIOS as "Maxtor Calypso" and detects no capacity and everything is in 0.

Could anyone please tell me what to do? I can't buy logic cards from another place because I am from Argentina and they don't ship here...

Please... help me, I need the data stored on the broken HDD...

Try to find another board. This one is not compatible.
Go to several local PC shops. Some of them have a large bin with old broken drives. Calypso is quite a common one, so you should find something. Make sure their drive at least spins up and has the same CPU type(Ardent C8-C1 for example) and then try that board on your drive.
Good luck.
