Hello all,
This is really getting to got be annoying now, ive looked everywhere and cannot find a solution to this problem.
I seem to be getting a very slow load on everything, not matter how small the program, i just get the sand timer for up to 20 seconds, and i hear the hard driver very loudly for those 20 seconds.
This is a new hard drive, and all new hardware.
Ive tried reinstalling the operating system many times over, using both xp64 and vista64, and i get the same problem on both, so ive got a hardware setting somewhere that maybe is not right.
Ive also tried reinstalling the operating system using the ahci mode in bios and the intel matrix drivers, but i still get the same slow responce, whether bios is set to ide or ahci.
Ive used the seagate hardrive test software, and they dont return any problems
Does anybody have any ideas?.....anything?
Is there anything in device manager that i should be looking out for so that i know the drives are configured correctly?
q6600 stock
seagate 500gb sata2 16mb
p5k deluxe wifi p35
4gb ddr2
tried both xppro64 and vista64
thanks for reading

I recently had two of those drives in a RAID 0. One of them imaged extremely slowly - like a sector a second! The other drive was fine. I never could figure out why. You may have a bad (new) drive.
