Maxtor 6Y040L0 Problem

Hi, j have a problem with maxtor 6Y040L0, sometimes he works normaly,but it is knocking, sometimes hi is recognized like Maxtor Calipso YAR41BWZ with knocking sound,and sometimes he is recognized like Maxtor Calipso YAR42KWJ with same knocking sound. In last two cases drive is unreadable. what's going on? please help!

Sounds like you have a head problem.

If u can get it working again, copy your data off quick.

Then throw the drive away.

It's dying rapidly.
