Maxtor Diamondmax Plus 9 120gb no LBA and 0 capacity...

September 18th, 2007, 15:31

I have a Diamondmax 9 120gb IDE ATA drive that is inconsistently recognized in BIOS as Calypso or not at all. It makes a slide - click sound repeatedly as much as 21 times on boot.
MHDD does see the drive, but it's not LBA compatibile and the capacity is zero.

Any ideas on how best to proceed. ( I do not have PC3000 )

Hi Dave,

Sorry to say, but this is a case for professionals with the right equipment. MHDD will not be able to handle this drive.
I would even say that the longer you give power to this drive, the smaller your chances get to recover the data. (the clicks can damage the drive)

Best regards,

Dobre
