Harddisk Access Mode problem

September 24th, 2007, 3:54

Hi everyone.

My 160 GB (7200 rpm) SATA II harddisk seems to be working normally in Windows Vista Ultimate. But there is pecularity. Namely, my award bios (year 2007) auto configures its access mode as LRG.

Shouldn't all new harddisks be configured as LBA by bios?

Does this issue indicate a problem with my system (harddisk, motherboard, bios, etc) ?

Can it lead to problems if I leave it as LRG ?

Should I set it to LBA manually ?

Thanks in advance. :P

Try to set it manually.

Starling.

Thanks for the advice. I changed it to LBA manually. Would it do any harm to leave it as LRG? Would I be missing any features (such as throughput, speed, ...) if I leave it as LRG?

Thanks.
