Data recovery and disk repair questions and discussions related to old-fashioned SATA, SAS, SCSI, IDE, MFM hard drives - any type of storage device that has moving parts

Hi,
my Samsung SP1614N has a read/write head error and I want to replace the head stack.
The first try with dummies didn't work, but the headstack ran again in his original
hdd.
So I think, it's a problem with compatibility of the head stacks...
So how can I recognize the head stack compatibility of a donor
hdd with my Samsung SP1614N (S/N S016J10X104456; 2004.01)..??
Thanx in advance!

After model number(SP1614N), I always match the first seven characters
of the serinal number(S016J10). It always worked me fine.
