Safe mode for Hitachi SATA drives

Anybody knows how to put Hitachi SATA drives in safe mode?

I have heard that it involves grounding one of the contacts on the logic card. Don't have any exact info.

Which model drive do you have? The process is slightly different for certain drives.

HTS721060G9SA00 for example requires a pin to ground to put into safe mode. Most other drives just require the PCB connected as starling suggested.

Is this the only way to do it?... You know, the guys in the repair factories are a bit lazy, don't like unscrewing screws.... :D

If you connect the PCB only PC3000 screws the drive... Could do with a button to stop the process after NVR write.... Then I could connect the bloody PCB to the HDA .....
