Hi All,
I have a PC-3000 PCI and a ATA-Password Protected Hard Disk. I need to remove the ATA-Password but the PC-3000 Manual i have does not show the probe location on the PCB.
Does anybody have a photo of the probe location on a PCB, is it in the new PC-3000 manuel?
Does anybody know where the probe should be placed in order for the PC-3000 to reset/disable the ata password?
Thanks in advance. Below is a photo of the PCB.

Can't you just hook up to the 4 pins next to the IDE ones for PC3000 and erase it that way?

Does that really work? Do you have a photo of this 'hooking up' ?

Does anybody have any suggestions on how to remove the ata-password from this disk or the location where the pc-3000 single pin probe should go on this pcb?
aff repair station and mhdd cannot erase this password from this model disk. The probe location ace provided does not seem accurate either.

Any suggestions? I need to remove the unknown ata password, it's in security mode high, maximum. I need to get access to the data ASAP.
Thanks in advance for any help.
