Safe Mode on Maxtor Grizzley SATA for PC-3000

October 30th, 2007, 21:06

Hi All,

Does anybody know the safemode setting for a Maztor Grizzley SATA hard disks? I have a SATA 500GB disk and i need to start it with a Loader but not sure of the safe mode setting for these disks.

There is no setting for jumpers, just 2 small pins next to the SATA and Power connector on the disk.

I have a PC-3000 PCI for Windows, the new PC-3000 UDMA which i do not have has a special adapter but i don't have that.
;(

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Zed,

I think this has been discussed in the forum before. Has you used the search function?

I did a search for "safe mode" and it came up with 10 pages of search results, i looked through the 1st 4 pages...nothing like this.

Do you know the answer to my question? Or do you have a link to the other thread discussing this?

Thanks.

With PCI you won't be able to do anything with it.
As far as I remember it can't even see registers on a good working GRIZZLY.
