Hi forum
has anyone experineced an issue with the above drive.

initial issue was drive was clicking all the time, obtained a rerplacement drive and relpaceds heads and small 8 pin chip so i have the original drive with donor heads and 8 pin chip, when it is attached to the pc3000 i am now getting 2 clicks and then the below.

i am truly lost and am tyying to get this sorted but gettting nowhere. i am lost as to what is happening.
i have worked on a fujitsu 30gb which showed all faulty modules, i replaced the heads and all data was recovered but this drive is beyond me as to what is happeninig.

is it possible that a drive cant be recovered even with the pc3000 and data extractor?

thank you for any help

Why have you changed the 8-pin Chip?

This NVRAM pertains to the SA data on the platters, and is not related to the heads

Hi Pcimage,
thank you for the reply.
i posted a question to the ace forum and was advised to try that hence i changed the nvram chip.

when i had the original chip on the original board so only item changed was the heads frmo the donor to the original faulty drive the drive still mkept on clicking.

i guess my question should then be do i need to restore the original chip to the original board and then start from there again?

Thank you
Ari

Well, SalvationDATA HD Doctor for IBM/Hitachi, it can solve the NVRAM problem.

Repair NVRAM: Repair the NVRAM (no matter just part of it is damaged or the whole NVRAM is damaged). This function is very important in data recovery and there is no other tool capable for this job except our tool.

If you are interested in the products, please contact me.

Best Regards
