Isolate end of disk with MHDD

January 21st, 2008, 20:47

Anyone here have cut the size at the end of a hd to isolate sectors with physical errors?

Or mark a sequence of sectors, at the end of a drive, as bad sectors?

MHDD should do the work (how?) or any other tool?

Thanks!

With HPA you can cut the end of drive
What drive and how much do you need too cut off?

Thanks for the answer.

Its a Fujitsu 30Gb notebook drive, and I want to cut the end of the drive by 1Gb.

How accomplish that exactly? It is possible to cut the begin of the drive too?

I am runnning MHDD scan with realocate on it for about 3 days (!), and the end does not get much better.

Thanks again!
