the hd is dead! Need help if its the pcb...

symptons

computer does'nt recognize it and hangs at boot.
At boot green LED comes on (on hd) then goes off - then computer hangs.
It feels like the drive is spinning, but makes not noise - no clickling etc.

GTLA for this drive is LE04A011-01-B manufactured in singapore


However I have another 40gig d540x-4k maxtor hd (working fine) with GTLA LE04A014-01-B,
manufacured in malaysia.
How can I confirm it is the pcb thats bust and will it be possible for me to swap pcb from the second hard disk to recover data.

usualy those bords are copatibile.
There is a small difference but very rare.
There is 3 different boards.
One Has no ROM chip, one HAS ROm chip with white dot, and 3d has rom chip with blu dot.
