Quantum Fireball lct08 LA17A011

January 28th, 2008, 18:19

I have a failed Quantum Fireball lct08 LA17A011 hard drive which I need recovered. THE PCB board has been determined to be fine. There is a definite problem with the functioning of head 0 on the head assembly but the platter itself is not damaged.

Is there anyone out here with a suitable donor drive that can do a live platter swap or head swap to retrieve my data? Has anyone done this successfully? Does anyone know where I can get this procedure done? I don't mind sending it out.

Hi!
I might have a drive for you.
I will check availability.

Do you want to do it yourself or you will need a service done for you?

Hi,

Sorry guys, I have bad news. Quantum drives are very sensitive to head alignment, so I would say it is almost impossible to find an exactly matching donor MHA just by chance...
This drive has 4 heads, that's a big challenge for pros as well...
BTW how do u know H0 is bad?
