Not guy but girl speaking out here![]()
I'm afraid I have to disagree. We have succeeded in repairing a couple of U6 series Seagate drives with HD Doctor for Seagate. In fact the first time we used the device was successfully we had a few hiccups until we were more comfortable with the software. Maybe you should try to arrange your schedule around Salvationdata's working hours for a day or two and contact Bruce via email. He spent some time working remotely with my husband at the beginning of this week and from what I hear it went quite well. My husband found his time with Bruce informative although we still have an issue with a couple of WD drives that HDD WD couldn't fix but that is still work in progress.
If you cant arrange to work same time as SalvationData staff then at least send them an email to support@salvationdata.com and include some screen shots so that they can see what you are up against.
The bugs that are mentioned in the post you refer to seem to me as if they were ironed out in the update...You are running this on 32 bit XP or win 2k I hope.
Just my 2 cents
Salvationdata Rocks

It goes into research and development.
You know why SalvationData still doesn't have support for WD AAJS drives? Simply because Acelab didn't release their PC3000 update yet and SD didn't have chance to trace it in order to add it to their HD Doctor.

DRNJ wrote:I have both PC-3000 and Salvation Data.
Both systems have about the same function when it comes to data recovery.
The biggest difference is PC-3000 had good documentation and support.
Salvation Data has bad documentation and support.
But remember PC-3000 costs $11,000 vs. $2,000 for all SD units.
Where does that extra $9,000 go?
Into support and documentation (and maybe a nice vacation home).
Both PC3000 and Salvation Data are engineering tools and should only be used by engineers.
I bet you can buy a heart bypass surgery kit from China for $200 but does that make you a heart surgeon?
If you wanted documentation and support you should have bought the PC-3000.
If you want training for Salvation data you have to pay for it.
This guy is gives Salvation Data Training and lives near you.

It would be nice if the administrator of this forum could start a section for discussion of Salvation Data Products.
