Data recovery and disk repair questions and discussions related to old-fashioned SATA, SAS, SCSI, IDE, MFM hard drives - any type of storage device that has moving parts

Hi all,
I recently obtained a number of computer units and included was an IBAS data recovery unit. A google search provides no information. If anyone thinks they can offer any help regarding if the item has any resell value it would be much appriciated.
Thanks

Hi This seems to be prized catch. A well built pc for data recovery. Need to look inside & what softwares are installed.

Huge thanks for your reply, I really know very little about this unit so your advice is much appriciated.
I just booted the unit up and it has a P4 2.8 CPU + 2gig ram and a 160gb HDD. Its running linux and I could not get past the user enter password screen as I do not have the info.
Another pic of inside:

I have emailed a few people who might be interested in the unit and someone mentioned it could be a cloning machine. I would like to know yours or anyone opinion on what it could be worth in terms of resell. I have lots of cables with the unit, all sealed.
Thanks

A cloning machine...yep that what I thought when i saw it. Unlikely to have anything to do with hardware based data recovery.
Probably used in computer forensics by law enforcement agencies to make exact images of hard drives to be later studied by law enforcement officers.
On the face of it its nothing more than a quality system unit. It would be interesting to find out what apps are installed on the hard disk.
