Maxtor 6L300R0 Loss of Readiness

March 9th, 2008, 12:00

I have a Maxtor 6L300R0.
All modules test out OK.

When I try to make a mirror copy of it, the drive looses readiness after less then a minute of perfect copying.
The only way to get it going again is to power cycle it.
It is just like new again for another 30 to 60 seconds.

I am using data extractor and it is auto cycling the power when readiness is lost but based on my calculations this drive is going to take 38 days to complete the mirror copy.

Any ideas on what to do?
I can’t bog down my machine for that long.

Hi,

it can be a PCB problem I think...
