I have this drive with firmware problems.
Does anyone can acess and work with the firmware of this drive?

I have WD2500KS SE16 and I think that the problem also in the firmware.

In Egypt....

I forget to say that the PC can't detect the HDD and the WD datalifeguard show empty data for model and serial ..etc

what symptoms does the drive show? be more complete and maybe you'll get some good replies. Photos, the tools you have used, recordings etc.

Those drives are pieces of Sh111111t. Ask me how I know. (i have never managed to fix one :(

???? you are on a hard drive recovery forum, dealing with people that see a lot of drives, and you ask that? They are junk.

And to make matters worse, WD now own Fujitsu and are the second largest HD manufacturer worldwide :-(

WD and fujitsu both are crap on 3.5'' and both manufacturing together will make super crap .

It's kool, I was thinking the same thing with all the WD issues everybodys talking about..
Is this type of info available from Consumer Reports or somewhere?
Reliability of HDD's?

I fixed a WD2500KS that sounded like that at work yesterday.

Post a picture of the bottom of the drive w/ PCB visible.

The tools are not the problem my dear.

Please mention what you did to fix it,and if any tool is missing ,I will buy it .
