Data recovery and disk repair questions and discussions related to old-fashioned SATA, SAS, SCSI, IDE, MFM hard drives - any type of storage device that has moving parts

Hi guys a quick question. I have about 10 200 GB maxtors here, all dropped with spindle seizure. Freed them all up so they spin and 4 are OK. However about 5 of them had platters shifted, but not laterally. Has anyone ever seen a bent motor spindle on one of these or it is it the aluminum retaining hub that is bent, as the disk edge moves up and down as you rotate the platters. They are 3 disk Diamondmax plus9 drives. Data is not important as they are for experimenting only.
Anyone has seen this before?
Andy.
