HELP! WD 1TB Crashes

March 16th, 2008, 6:32

hi there,

im wondering if anyone can help me here. i have a 1TB Western Digital SATA300 hdd. it takes heaps of time to transfer data across after a while it crashes my windows OS and restart itself. i tried to format each seperate partition and re-install windows. but the same problem persist. after a few tries somehow the partitions closed itself leaving me with only 1 TB unpartitioned drive. then i formatted the hdd again re-installing my windows os on another hdd. after that i tried to recover my lost data through "getdataback". it scans my WD hdd to around 2% then windows freeze and crashes then it automatically restarts.

wondering if anyone can help me resolve this problem. as i really need to get back my data which is lost. or can anyone suggest any software/shareware or even freeware which i can use to solve my hdd problem.

thanks in advance...

Maybe you have some bad sectors on the drive. First of all you should recover your data with a data recovery software if you can. If not, run MHDD to repair the drive and then try the data recovery software again.
