Hi
I think donor is not suitable because simply firmware does not match
Thanks

Can I swap the Firmware chip?
if yes, how to identify that?

Hi,

Can I swap the firmware chip from patient PCB to the donar PCB?
Is yes, is it 8pin chip? or anything else?

Thanks,

its not 8 pin ic on this model.
its a parallel Rom used on this model.

Hi DF,

Can you just tell me how to identify the Parallel ROM?
Which chip is Parallel ROM?
How it looks like? any reference?

The simplest thing.......Read the ROM of patient drive and write it onto the donor....or, if the drive is not in the status to let the ROM read (No power in PCB or such), then simply write the corresponding f/w rom to the donor from an available ROM file, write it onto the donor and attach the donor PCB on patient one. :)

But unfortunately.......Salvation Data doesn't support your drives ROM read, write or any function with ROM. :(

You will need some professional tool (PC-3000, HRT or such) for the job.......

Hi,

There are not too much ICs on this PCB, believe me it is easy to find the Flash ROM :) Google is your friend.
As far as I remember these drives use either AT29F1024 or M28F102BB usualy.
The easiest way is to swap ROM from patient PCB to donor provided it hasn't been damaged.
