Data Extractor Question

April 6th, 2008, 22:10

Hi Gurus,

I ran part of a drive in DE with "Ignore Read Errors"(no CRC control). I want to go back and reread those sectors, but DE now ignores them. I reset the begin and end sectors to only read the ones without CRC control(gray in color), but it ignored them. Short of creating a new task, is there a way to force DE to reread these sectors?

Thanks,

A

Hi,

Yes, U can modify the task's map file and reset those bytes that refer to the sectors u need to re-read.

Thanks Pepe.

Another question about DE. Is there a way to scrip DE so that on failure, switch heads round-robin style - meaning disable all heads but one at a time and retry? I'm finding myself having to "babysits" certain drives when imaging one head at a time.

Thanks,

A

Hi

I don't know about such method apart from the 'head map' option.
