Hi Gurus
I have a 256MB Transcend Pen drive for data recovery. It gets detected as new hardware But as unknown usb device. Is data Recovery possible? I have cleaned it with Isp Propyle alcohole but no use.
Thanks

The most common problem with USB pen drives is bad / broken solder joints. Open it up and resolder the pins from the USB connector.
If that doesn't work, find an identical device and transplant the memory chip from the bad device to the good donor.

Remove the chip and read with suitable nand reader and s/w.
Then remove mix and sort data blocks into order and create disk image.

A programmer which is capable of reading the Flash chip (assuming it is actually a NAND flash, although it doesn't matter what technology it is). I had more success in transplanting the flash chips to identical USB sticks than reading the chips directly, as data may be stored kind of garbled in the flash. The controller within the stick knows how to deal with.
