Seems to be some kind of electrical fault but where exactly? My primary suspicion is with the pins that stick out of the back of the motor into the PCB. Any other suggestions or even a way to fix? Replacement PCB does not do the trick.

Hi,
I can think of 3 things:
1. Problem with the motor controller,
2. with the motor itself,
3. Preamp is gone inside the HDA.
First swap the PCB with a good one to see if that causes the problem.
