Seagate SATA HDD terminal connection

May 7th, 2008, 18:42

Hi all,
I need the pin layout for the 4 pin header of Seagate SATA drives which I assume is the serial connection for terminal access.
Anyone..?

The serial data terminals are the two closest to the SATA data cable. Not sure which is TXD and which is RXD but hey, you've got a 50/50 chance, right?

Thanks; I'll try it tomorrow (or next week...), the disk is dead and gone anyway, but I'd like to use the chance to be prepared.
This one is a 500G which had been dropped together with its USB enclosure while operating, nice sound. My colleague noted that the customer is willing to pay 80 Euros. At least one of the guys must have a serious problem with the summer temperatures here...
