Damaged ROM in Hitachi PLAT drive

May 15th, 2008, 11:14

Hi everybody,

I received this HDS728040PLAT20 drive. Faulty board. External ROM chip exploded too. This board has both NVRAM and ROM chips.

I was not able to find a spare card. First line on original one is 0A30417. I have all cards with 0A30418.

NVRAM is good. Tried to reprogram card with 0A30418, no success to access modules.

So, no exact match in spare. No original ROM... How to build a good compatible card ?

Thanks in advance,

Max

You need to use PCB with both chips
If you just solder ROM chip on PCB which previously didn't have one - it will not work
Don't forget to match CPU
