How to identify a Disk

Got a drive in for recovery today. It's not recognized in bios at all. Worse yet, the customer at some point removed the entire label from the front of the drive. I have no model number, serial number, firmware revision, or anything.

Is there any way to indentify this drive so I can get a matching donor drive? Like i said, not recognized by bios or software solutions and I don't have a PC3000.

Any suggestions?

When I add drives to my database, I record practically every single number on that drive - very useful if you get a fire-damaged drive in for recovery.

If you can post photographs (CLEAR) of the PCB and any visible labels, someone may be able to help.

OK Finally got a few pics. They are not very clear, but the best i could get with my camera. If you need to know what any label or chip reads, I can tell you what's on it.

I happen to have this in my stock. The dell part number points to this model.

The serial number is also on the top of the drive opposite the ide connector. A close match to this one may give you your answer. Hope that helps.

Found that on ebay. The numbers are the same, however that little white sticker on the ide connector says "V7335" on the ebay one and "V7252" on mine.

Is this gonna mess me up? Anyone have a pcb that matches mine exactly?

i did, but i couldn't find a thread regarding matching these types of drives.

See my main problem is that I don' have the model number or the DCM number.

Now from pepe's pic, I can pretty safely assume the same model number because of the Dell p/n, but still no way to know the DCM.

From what I understand, it is important for the DCM to match as close as possible.

How do I determine what DCM I need so i can find a whole drive, or what specific PCB I need so I can search for just that?

Who opened the drive?

Apparently a "tech guy" that works with the customer.

The numbers on the back of the pcb (side that shows when fixed in place) on the white sticker are as follows:

Now just gotta figure out how to get DCM
