Hi

I always match country.
U may give it a try. Recently I used an MHA from an MK6026GAX made in CHina in a drive made in Philippiness.
The only thing that's worrying me about this is the fact that the 'Made in China' sign was printed on a separate sticker placed over the original that says Philippiness ... :)

Hy sempre, on my cases for head exchange on toshiba, i always tried to find matching between model HDDxx ZEXX and country,

Best regards

It's better to match country code, but if you have a donor from other country, try it, because I found toshiba very tolerant to that.

I had the same issue last week. I did a headswap on non-matching country codes and unfortunately it didn't work. I tried it again with matching parts and it was 100%. However, I have successfully done headswaps on Toshiba's before where country code does not match.

So, to conclude, I dont know if there is a definite rule to say you can or cannot!

Sempre,

This drive has to be the easiest head swap in the DR business.

I don't have all my records going back all the years, but I do know I have successfully transplanted heads between drives manufactured in different countries. (Toshiba.)

Bear in mind that just the country of manufacture can often mean that the heads will be identical to those in drives manufactured in a different country.

Anyway, a very, very easy head swap - 3 minutes at most - so worth it for the experience if nothing else.

THANKS ALL HELPS!!
