Can you read the terminal log?

Read terminal log and point out what's the problem (failure in initializing, can't read firmware...) or maybe internal ROM is corrupted. If the drive has only the Marvell chip on the PCB for you could be almost impossible to reprogram, in that case the unique solution is change PCB. Does the drive knock at startup or seems to calibrate then shut down ? Depending on the status (and only terminal log can say what's happening) is possible to jump start the drive at least to try MC reading / diag.

The marvell chip (MCU) have an internal program for low level finctions, like terminal and etc... ;)
The drive spin up, start to load the firmware, recalibrate, and this is what you can see in terminal log.
If somthing bad happening, like in your case, this will appear in terminal log.

If i think right, changing the pcb will no solve this problem.

Marvell chip has flash, too!

BTW I remember I solved a similar issue (same symptoms) on a 80 GB SATA (HD080) , similar PCB - flash again main code, but it was a long time ago , I have to review what I have done but I'm quite sure. Probably also overlays were rewritten, anyway the drive was fixed. I'll check and post.
