Odd WD Problem

June 15th, 2008, 18:28

I've got a WD1600 that thinks it has a 2.047.5 terabyte capacity.

It's not the PCB. The heads, sectors, cylinders, etc. are all normal, so I'm guessing the capacity must be determined dynamically.

Is this the result of a bad preamp MUX line? Anybody seen and resolved this problem before?

Thanks.

Jon

Susan,

Shei shei for your suggestion.

It might appear that way, but I'm not so sure.

I'm hoping that someone knows the specific module numbers involved. The config module (#42) isn't it, apparently in this case . . .
