Seagate U6 ST380020A security locked

June 19th, 2008, 15:46

Hello,

After deleting all partitions I received a security-lock on a 80GB IDE Seagate-HDD.

This harddrive was only used for backups. As a last action I performed a backup from a 2.5" Acer Notebook hdd in 1:1 clone-mode. However, I repared the NB, copied the saved data back and deleted all partitions exept a undeletable 1.9 GB partition. So far, I used a hdd-wipe-tool and cleared the hdd. Until now the drive was security locked.

I'm looking for the master-PW (SEAGATE, SEQGQTE etc.) but these PW didn't work.
Does anybody know a tool for updating the firmware or maybe a tip to unlock the drive (there are no data on the drive!)?

Thanks for your answers,
Werner
