Maxtor Hard Disk

June 21st, 2008, 21:21

When I formatted this Maxtor hard disk, it generated a format error message. After formatting is done the computer can not read the dard disk anymore.

Questions
1. Is there anyway to fix the problem?

2. I heard that some hard disk can not low level formatted. It will damage its sector alignment. If this the case, what can I do?

Low level format is used for writing zero at every sector.

Dear ray chen,
I think there must be some serious bad sectors on your Maxtor HDD, and these bad sectors block you to format it.

I suggest you to try to use HD Doctor for Maxtor of SalvationDATA to repair the bad sectors first.
