Identifying file on a particular sector number

June 26th, 2008, 1:51

Hi,
Does anyone know how to identify which file is allocated on a particular sector number? I.e. on sector 4,636,324 is what file.
Is there any software which can identify the file easily?
Thank you in advance.

Thanks for your reply.
Could you tell me more on how to identify the filename on the bad sector?
I went to the particular sector, but I can't find the name of the file.
I played around with it, but still couldn't get any filename.
Thanks in advance for any help.

well the name its not on the Sector, its on the File System if its NTFS File System , its on the MFT , on NTFS File Atribute, if u tried a RAW recovery, searching for "headers" u cannot get the "file name " on the hex code, this link could be useful for u
