I met this warning while I'm erasing my hdd with MHDD
"catasthropic failure"
what is that mean? and how to fix it?

The same drive of the other post? If yes, already told you the drive need to be serviced?

That means you need to deposit this drive in to a bucket called "rubbish" and get a new one.

No, not throwing away. The drive need to have fw fixed and ss. before judging it's broken, but tools and knowledge are needed.
