Dead Hitachi DK23EA-60

August 11th, 2008, 18:03

I have an old Hitachi (Not IBM Hitachi) drive.
Model: DK23EA-60
Which is dead. No noise, No current draw.

Will a simple PCB swap work on this drive or I need to reprogram the Flash?
I think the Flash is in the microcontroller because I see no chips on the PCB

Have you checked the fuse at F9?

The microcontroller blew to protect the fuse.

The new PCB worked. Did not have to swap anything.

Thanks
