I have a ST91608220AS that won't come ready. The terminal output is below.
Is this something that requires PC3K to repair?
4096k x 16 DRAM
LARAMIE - 1_Disk S-1F 07-09-07_13:15

Oh and BTW the drive spins up just fine and doesn't make any interesting noises. The heads do their initial dance but it seems like a short one, like they can't read the service area of the drive. I just don't know if it is 'cause of bad heads or screwed-up firmware.

Sounds like I probably need PC3K or something similar for this drive.

Think so. Anyone can give a look - if you don't mind having the drive sent?

Nothing important on this drive, it is just a learning case for me.
But thank you for your help, it is appreciated. Some day I'll buy the tools for firmware. For now I just wonder...
