I was able to "fix" the firmware and have the drive recognized in the bios and xp. That did not last long and now when i try to put the loader back on, it starts to load then goes to busy and the drive won't load the loader. I do detect a single click (i presume one of the heads) before it goes to busy.
Any ideas ?

Robert

P.S. it did seem that perhaps some of the head were not working, when i looked at the binary (hex) there were some information then all zeros.
4am here so if that doesn't make alot of sense sorry

The heads move together so it's not "one" of the heads. You simply haven't fixed the FW. How did you fix it ? (which tool/s) ? Post log if possible.

Ok i stand corrected then. I'm using pc3000 ..... firmware loaded.... it was recognized by the bios.... appeared to be working fine then it quit. Now it will not accept the firmware. starts to load then goes to busy and the drive can't be read by the program.

Also i noted it would show as 2 heads instead of 16....
