Ok here is an example problem :
MPG3409AT - heads knock at start up but after 60 secs knocking stops.
You will know that heads map is wrong and more ......
Tell us how to proceed to a working drive so data can be recovered.

your hdd is fujiston.that's because the head controller is bad so at first you must rewrite the
BIN file .if it dosen't work ,ok ,find the same size hdd then change the head.i hope to see your solution

OK, I read the native BIN file compared it to another identical drive and they match- Also original pcb works good on another drive so we can conclude that BIN file is OK.
Must I now do head change ??
Nothing else to check before this ??
I think viper knows something........

Good one Tony,
The question was about a Fujitsu MPG3409AT.
My experience with clicking Maxtors - they toast.

Yes, I figured that ...
Agreed, nobody shares their tricks, that's why the guys with
the best tricks are called magicians - but mostly these are just illusions.
