Data recovery and disk repair questions and discussions related to old-fashioned SATA, SAS, SCSI, IDE, MFM hard drives - any type of storage device that has moving parts

Hi all... I am doing R&D on seized motors, in order to find non-invasive or less-invasive solutions for unlocking and eventually temporary repair for DR.
I have already developed a totally non-invasive solution for unlocking - for some case and without further damage . But has to be refined, and motors with various seizure grade are required.
I am unable to find many seized motors (2,5" and 3,5") or scrap drives with seized motors, possibly with the motor NOT OPENED / NOT TAMPERED in order to see exactly what happened.
Any suggestion for finding them ? Ebay seems to be completely time-wasting.
Thanks.

If you need some that are sticking, but not seized, I have a few 2.5" sitting about.

What do you mean "sticking"? Unstable rpm and tend to stop like worn pc fans?

I have some, but they are opened. I have been trying design a tool to help align these after removing the platters. You are welcome to them if you want.
