I read that, but it is still confusing .
Is this still an IBM or is it a hitachi?
The article was written before hitachi acquired IBM .

1) What´s the FW/PCBA/Head change condition?

HITACHI FW Change:Use Original FW in SA-C to recover FW in SA-A and SA-B

HITACHI PCBA Change:HDD series and the first 2 lines identification label same

HITACHI Head Change:same model

2) I don't know. I guess Maybe some flexible microscope will work, which can see between the platters.
