Hi, my maxtor dimondmax 40gb hdd is now saying that itself is only 10mb hdd drive. Somehow the LBA has been rewritien to 20000 when the drive lable says it is suposed to be well above 800000 +. I need to rewite the lba to the factory the set. I have tried the size resore tool and it did not work. I have tried the latest Low Level format tool and it will now work, because it says the drive needs to be bigger than 10bm. Please Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried that, I need some way to tell the drive again that its 40 gb and not 10 bm, I need to rewrite the actual phyiscal szie of the drive and that is directialy related to the szie of the LBA on the drive.

Try HDD Capacity Restore.
Helps in most cases.

allston
if you have HD Doctor for Maxtor, just load the firmware from hdd in master mode and specifiy the correct LBA in the other operation tab and hope it will show you again LBA 80293248. I have tried it myself.
