I'm wondering, can the Atola replace the firmware on a drive? I'll give an example: you get a regular drive, can you put the firmware that server drives (I forgot what kind of firmware that is) have on it?

Steve, your question is a little strange, are you wanting to make a desktop drive into a server grade drive by changing FW? If so, that will not work. If you want to download and restore/repair FW modules FROM/TO the same disk series: yes it can. I have now read about 30 or so FW's and only one or two cases in which there were troubles (atola still in beta)
