SAMSUNG HA500LJ/JP2
REV A
after connection the HDD, its making constant sound continuously, I connected it for about 30 mins, but constant sound.
After connecting then I hear motor started spinning, then after 3/4 seconds sound started continuously, unstoppable.
Is it head problem or PCB?
if the problem is in PCB then wht is the procedure to select donor samsung pcb?
as I am not very much familiar with samsung

You mean clicking ? A terminal log could help. Post it. Anyway, 30 min. clicking = damage !!!

I know clicking sound damage/make scratch into the platter. But after connecting HDD, the sound is not like direct head stuck to the platter, the sound is different (from the past experience i can guess), may be misplace of the Head, or faulty PCB. I will keep posting after changing the PCB, if it does not change the matter then I will have a look at the head recalibration.
Thanks BlackST for the reply.

FINAL SOLUTION: The head was not landing perfectly to the landing zone. That's why it was making bad sound. fortunately the head did not break & working smoothly after positioning perfectly.
THANKS TO ALL GURUS. Who replied me.
All guru must face before about the problem.
NB: Most of the Samsung might make knocking sound for that. I received another HDD today of SAMSUNG with knocking sound. Seems to me similar problem. I will keep posted after identifying the problem exactly.

Dear Gurus,
Ya, I received the HDD with exactly same problem. For recovery I demanded 35000 TAKA BDT ($500), but unfortunately customer did not take the service for that price. He was introducing him as a student to take the service with a very low price. But what to do? I returned the HDD to the customer.

Good move. If he couldn't afford, he is simply not your customer. Calling next...
