Do You mean you have purchased the product?
If you really wanted to study you would only require the Seagate terminal commands manuals (available on this site) and a TTL to serial or usb convertor. And then read through the available information on the forum.

doing exactly same , taking online support from friends.
must admit blown one drive completely ,but it was kinda learning lesson.enjoying it
