Hello, I also have the same Drive with ending digits -00ZTB0. Same symptom as original poster and would like any info or helpful tips to where I can send my Drive to? Will this require a PCB swap with adaptive firmware transfer? Thank you.

Does your PCB have a chip at location U12?

What is the 88ixxxx part number on the largest chip?

Hello, thank you for the response. Where exactly should I find "U12"? The part number is 88i6745-TFJ1 and here some pics.

U12 is between the MCU and the edge connector. Unfortunately, your board doesn't have a flash memory at this location. This means that the drive's "adaptive" data are internal to the Marvell MCU.

You could ask your board suppliers if they will transfer the "ROM" or firmware from your original PCB to a replacement board. Some (eg http://www.hdd-parts.com) will charge US$10 for this service, if they are capable of doing so. Others (eg http://www.donordrives.com) will charge US$75 - $95. There is also one supplier who is a member of this forum who has indicated that he offers this service at no additional cost.
