Seagate Hard Drive Structure

Seagate hard drives has almost the similar basic structure with Maxtor hard drives. The only difference is the way to access to the firmware area. The two serial bus pins of the jumper ports of Seagate hard drives are used to transfer data and repair damaged hdd. That’s to say, if you want to repair Seagate hard drives, you need to use professional COM cables.

The FW of Seagate is also stored in the negative tracks before track 0, we call it also SA tracks and the detailed location is marked in Hex and these tracks are accessed by COM cable. Within our hdd repair work, we usually use three main modules and they are ATA module, CERT module and VEN module.
