Hello,
I have problem with WD400EB-00CPF0. The drive had worked ok until some day PCB gone - actually spindle motor in this drive won't startup.
I replaced PCB in this model many times for good one and there were no problems at all until this drive - when I put 100% good PCB in this drive, hdd starts up, but from the inside is only regulary knocking...
I wonder if there is maybe more than one firmware for this drive???
