Original MyBook Mirror Edition with 2 x 1TB Green can't be upgraded to more than 2 x 1TB…

Purchased 4TB WD Green, uninstalled WD manager from MAC, placed disk in bay B (right one).

Disk works properly without any problem.

(In bay A with WD manager uninstalled it is also functional but you cannot park the disc, i.e. even if not on desktop, disk is trying to solve/report problem of empty slot B to WD manager and spins all the time… In bay B everything is ok and you can use the disk of any size and any manufacturer).

This is solution to spare the good enclosure..

Hopefully info can be of assistance to anyone…

Regards
Alex

It is what is likely expected to be, like A failed and isolated and B still working in a mirror. No wonder.

Well…

This is not like expected to be since if You don't switch off (uninstall) WD manager You will be required to get a new disk in bay A, for reconstruction.

Many people (including me) purchased drives of higher capacity with idea to get higher capacity (8TB) in this enclosure and with black Mirror edition that never work. It was possible at some degree with white ones.

So this is the only way to have more than 2TB in My Book Mirror black.

Regards
