I tried few places but the cost was very high and i backedup data upto certain extent. Just to learn i thought of doing R&D which may help in future troubleshoot. Any help on how to make it spin.

read through this forum a bit, do a search for "newbie" and also look for any links to any documents/write-ups on HDD Hardware. If you still have that question after that, then you will know what it is you want to know. Think of it like someone says "I want to know how to do a business" VERY vague, and after you do as I suggested, you will have a better picture.

as for the question "how to get the disk to spin" it is almost unanswerable in any useful way to you.

I am no pro, but I do believe in what I am saying.
