Hi:

- st20000dl003 2Tb Seagate Green

Problem:

1. power in
2. hear the platters
3. then buz/second [11 times]
4. platters stops

- no bios detection

Repaired for future use, no.

Temporary fix for data recovery, possibly.

But not by DIY

So specialist said:

- heads is a problem, and the magnet "thing" is out of order, and
it can't be fixed.

Is he right ?
What is proper action here:

- sell for parts or
can be fixed ?

pcimage already gave you your answer.

And you can sell anything on ebay, just whether you get a buyer or not. Probably not worth much though.

Did some research about HDDs and looks like seagate is the worth brand for serious data, will gonna test hitachi and samsung now.
What brand you would recommend ?

a backup system that can make losing a HDD an unimportant event far outweighs any brand recommendations. Effort is best spent on figuring out how to backup than searching for a bulletproof drive
