ST9500423AS .. . . Loads of UNC Errors . . .

June 1st, 2014, 7:04

Please Help - Anyone that is prepared to provide Teamviewer support on this. I will pay . . .

I have been messing around with Data Recovery since 2008/2009 and am not really making progress. I really have a lot to learn.

Anyone do Training here? Particularily in Seagate.

I have:

Salvation Data Data Compass
Salvation Data Seagate Doctor
Deepspar Disk Imager
PC3K ( Purchased 2009 - updated until February 2010 )

When I put this ST9500423AS in Deepspar it does Head Map OK but when I run a Media Test all heads, equally, produce loads of UNC error above a certain point and all at the same time.

I put Seagate Doctor to work and wasn't really sure of what I was doing.

I, then, contacted Salvation Data - they had a look, via Teamviewer, and tried to fix it. He said it needs Translator Regen but was not completing it succesfully for some reason. They gave up and said that it might be worth trying other tools on it.

Now when I power it up I get:

According to the info in your post, at some point there was a translator regeneration done without saving the defect lists properly.
Most likely data is still recoverable, but complexity level may vary noticeably.
